Eddy Current Testing (ECT) is an electromagnetic test method widely used for flaw detection and sizing in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Corrosion, I.D. and O.D. pitting, and mechanical wear are some of the flaws that can be accurately measured by ECT.

ECT has a wide range of testing applications including heat exchangers, condensers, boiler tubes, process coders, and chillers. Codes and specifications for ECT have been developed by ASME, and ASTM, as well as the Armed Forces of the United States.PetroChem takes pride in the quality of its personnel who are certified to SNT-TC-1A levels II and III as well as qualified on a number of industry standard bundles (ie., Shell, Chevron, EPRI, Equistar, Train, and Carrier).

Adding the computerized analysis capability to standard eddy current testing improves the consistency of results.  It also provides a permanent storage media for PetroChem clients to use in sequential evaluations from year to year.
